Built to Grow.
Engineered to Perform.

Chief Engineering partners with industrial leaders to deliver field-smart, technically rigorous solutions — from full-scale plant expansions to advanced 3D scanning and project execution. Our services are designed to reduce risk, accelerate timelines, and ensure long-term performance. We engineer with scalability, safety, and bottom-line value in mind — and we see every job through.

Plant Planning and Expansions

Whether you’re launching a new product line, scaling capacity, or modernizing an aging facility, Chief Engineering’s planning and expansion services help you grow with confidence. We specialize in early-stage feasibility, layout optimization, utility design, and equipment integration — all engineered for scalability, regulatory compliance, and budget accuracy.

Key Capabilities:

Industries Served

Engineering Consulting & Design

We offer multi-disciplinary engineering consulting and detailed design services that address the full spectrum of plant needs — from bulk material handling and process design to structural upgrades and MEP support.

Bulk Solids Handling (Our Foundation)

Chief Engineering was built on solving the hardest problems in bulk solids engineering. Founder Casey Shockey has spent over a decade tackling combustible dust hazards, conveyor design, and process system performance. Our NFPA-compliant solutions reduce risk, improve safety, and enhance flow control.

Services Include

Structural Engineering

From seismic and wind load design to dynamic analysis and foundation planning, our structural engineers ensure resilience, compliance, and constructibility across all phases.

Capabilities:

MEP & Facilities

Reliable utilities and infrastructure start with thoughtful engineering. We bring deep expertise in HVAC-R, plumbing, and electrical systems — from greenfield design to existing system upgrades.

Focus Areas

Process and Chemical Solutions

Our team provides customized process system design that ensures throughput, material compatibility, and production reliability. From mass and heat balances to system-wide integration, we engineer systems that perform under pressure.

Core Offerings

Project Implementation Services

Planning is only half the battle — execution is where success is won or lost. Chief Engineering offers boots-on-the-ground support to ensure your projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Project Support Includes:

We work hand-in-hand with contractors and client teams to eliminate disconnects, reduce rework, and drive smooth implementation from drawing to final walkthrough.

3D Scanning Solutions

Precision starts with knowing what you’re working with. Chief Engineering’s 3D scanning services provide millimeter-accurate as-built data that powers better planning, tighter coordination, and faster execution.

Terrestrial 3D Laser Scanning

Our ground-based scanners capture dense, high-resolution data with up to 1mm accuracy at over 200 feet. Every scan is registered using total station technology, allowing us to overlay models onto real-world plant coordinates.

Use Cases:

Detailed-Object Scanning

For reverse engineering, QA/QC, or custom tooling, our handheld scanners deliver ultra-precise measurements down to 0.0025 mm — ideal for part inspection, jig verification, and compatibility modeling.

Aerial Scanning

Using FAA-certified drone operators, we collect data for site monitoring, inspection, and high-level layout planning. Ideal for large facilities, greenfield projects, and ongoing construction observation.
